I Believe in Recreating Myself

Roddy Damalis is our very own Cypriot celebrity chef. He is a man that has 40-years of experience in the hospitality industry, having restaurants in South Africa and the beloved 20-year award winning “TA PIATAKIA” in Lemesso. It was in this intimate, cosy restaurant that people met Roddy and experienced his art, his passion in the kitchen can be tasted in every bite.  His passion for Cypriot produce and tradition are woven together with his African roots and his experiences on his travels to make him the recognised, acknowledged, and respected man that he is today. His contribution to the Cyprus culinary scene has been and continues to be invaluable.

My Work

Food Philosophy

I draw from my South African roots which incorporate the richest of Cape Malay, Portuguese and Indian cuisine and combine them with products from Cyprus. Over the thirty years of my involvement in the food industry, I have evolved my art into providing a memorable dining experience for my guests. My quest has been to revive classic recipes with humility and respect for their history.


Sharing my Experiences with all of you

Whether it’s through teaching classes or sharing recipes, being able to pass on my knowledge and passion for food is a rewarding experience that I cherish.
